Contract Land Staff’s Laurie F. Markoe named Foundation chairwoman
WASHINGTON—Laurie F. Markoe, president and chief executive officer of Contract Land Staff, LLC, a land management and right of way consulting firm, was elected chairwoman of The INGAA Foundation Inc. at the Foundation’s annual meeting in San Diego November 12.
“Laurie is passionate about the future of the natural gas pipeline industry, and we are delighted to have her lead us this coming year,” said INGAA Foundation President and CEO Don Santa. “Laurie will be at the forefront of explaining to the public how the natural gas pipeline industry—from pipeline operators to contractors and material manufacturers—provides jobs and benefits our economy more broadly in its role as the critical link in moving much-needed energy supplies to market.”
Markoe has served on the INGAA Foundation’s board of directors since 2007, as a member of the executive committee since 2008 and as vice chair of the board from November 2010 to November 2011.
She is an active member and former Gulf Coast president of the International Right of Way Association, having served on both the international pipeline and the international communications and marketing committees. Markoe also is an active member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, The Pipeliners Association of Houston, and the Women’s Energy Network of Houston’s Advisory Council, where she served on the board of directors from 2005 to 2007. Markoe, a 1988 Baylor University graduate, lives in Houston with her husband and two children. She is an avid sailor and is a lifelong Girl Scout volunteer.
The INGAA Foundation was formed in 1990 by the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America to advance the use of natural gas for the benefit of the environment and the consuming public. The Foundation works to facilitate the efficient construction and safe and reliable operation of the North American natural gas pipeline system, and promotes natural gas infrastructure development worldwide.
