INGAA urges updates to EPAs greenhouse gas inventory program

INGAA urged the Environmental Protection Agency to improve its GHG inventory by updating emissions factors and incorporating new data from a joint industry-environmental group-academia study. INGAA noted that data from the Colorado State University-led study, which addressed the issue of super-emitters – a few, large methane releases that account for most of the methane emissions in the transportation and storage sector – could help the public better understand the inventory because of the possible confusion over emission factors or if there is a change in which equipment covered is covered. INGAA also responded to 14 detailed questions posed by EPA.
