INGAA Statement on banning imports of Russian Oil

The Interstate Natural Gas Association of America issued the following statement on President Biden’s announcement that the United States will ban imports of Russian Oil, LNG, and Coal:

“INGAA supports President Biden’s decision to ban imports of Russian Oil, LNG, and Coal due to the country’s continued aggression in Ukraine. Our member companies stand ready to move forward on projects that are currently pending at FERC which will ensure natural gas supply keeps up with the rising demand by allowing natural gas to be to be safely moved from areas of the country where it is produced to areas where it is needed for heating homes, electric generation, and manufacturing.

“America’s “strong domestic energy infrastructure,” which President Biden referenced in his statement, was enabled by American innovation and federal and state policies that welcomed natural gas investment.  INGAA’s members want to collaborate with the Biden Administration on effective infrastructure permitting regulations which will allow us to continue to develop and modernize our infrastructure to fully realize the security, climate, and economic benefits of our domestic energy resources.”
