INGAA president comments on State of the Union address
Don Santa, president and CEO of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, today released the following statement on President Obama’s State of the Union address:
“We applaud the president for acknowledging the important role natural gas will play in America’s energy and economic future. Natural gas is driving resurgent U.S. manufacturing, creating good-paying American jobs, generating revenues, reducing emissions and lowering consumer energy prices.
“The U.S. is now the world’s largest natural gas producer. We must continue expanding America’s energy infrastructure to ensure that this success story continues. As part of this, we should examine ways to streamline pipeline permitting, while continuing to protect landowners and the environment.
“Still, government should avoid actions that might stifle domestic energy investment. Natural gas has proven its benefit to the American economy.”
