INGAA joined 259 associations and businesses in a letter urging President Obama to maintain Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s existing ozone (smog) protection standard at 75 parts per billion (ppb) rather than making the standard more stringent. EPA is considering a range of options including 70, 65 or 60 ppb. The letter was sent in anticipation of an interagency review at the White House and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in the next month. A final rule is expected by October 2015. A copy of the letter will appear as advertisements in The New York Times and The Washington Post on multiple days beginning on July 29, 2015 as a part of a media campaign on ozone supported by National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), The Business Roundtable (BRT) and U. S. Chamber of Commerce.
