Richard Hoffmann Named as Executive Director of the INGAA Foundation
WASHINGTON– The Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) announced today that Richard R. Hoffmann will join the staff of INGAA on January 21, 2008 as Executive Director of the The INGAA Foundation, Inc.
Mr. Hoffmann has had a distinguished, 34-year career as a member of the staff of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), including service as an Engineer, Branch Chief and finally, Director, Division of Gas – Environment and Engineering, Office of Energy Projects. In that capacity, he led a group of up to 58 professionals in engineering and environmental sciences who were responsible for the complete oversight of FERC’s National Environmental Policy Act mandates regarding natural gas projects. In addition, he worked closely with other divisions and offices at FERC, DOE, DOI, US Coast Guard, CEQ and other Federal, state and local agencies, private industry, associations and other stakeholders to ensure teamwork. He holds MS and BS degrees from the Newark College of Engineering.

Mr. Hoffmann is replacing Mark Shaffer who is retiring in January 2008. Mr. Santa states, “The members of the INGAA Foundation greatly appreciate Mark’s four years of service as Executive Director. Under Mark’s leadership, membership in the Foundation grew to new levels and the program of Foundation meetings, workshops and studies responded to the needs of the industry and stakeholders for education and analysis on critical issues facing the natural gas pipeline sector.”
