The INGAA Foundation Board of Directors has appointed Paul Amato as chair of the INGAA foundation for a one-year term which started October 27. Additionally, the board elected Sean Nicholson to serve as the Foundation’s vice chair.
“Paul and Sean each have a depth of industry experience and knowledge of the natural gas pipeline industry which will allow them to excel in these roles as they help guide the industry,” said Amy Andryszak, President and CEO of INGAA and the INGAA Foundation.
“We are thrilled to have Paul and Sean taking the lead as our next Chair and Vice Chair of the INGAA Foundation. Their diverse backgrounds and commitment to the industry will serve the INGAA Foundation well in the year ahead,” said Tony Straquadine, Executive Director of the INGAA Foundation.
Mr. Amato is Vice President, Engineering, Operations & EH&S for Iroquois Pipeline Operating Company in Shelton, CT. Mr. Amato has been with Iroquois since 1997, and in that time has led various technical departments, including Engineering, Field Operations, and Right of Way.
Prior to joining Iroquois, Mr. Amato worked at Algonquin Gas, the State of CT Public Utility Control and holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
“I am honored to have been elected to serve as Chair of the INGAA Foundation this year,” said Mr. Amato. “I look forward to working with our member companies, Amy, Tony, Sean, and the entire Foundation team to facilitate the use of safe, resilient and affordable energy.”
Mr. Amato is also engaged with the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, serving on the organization’s pipeline safety executive committee.
“I am very honored to have been elected to serve as the 2023 Vice Chair of the INGAA Foundation,” said Mr. Nicholson. “I am excited to work with Paul, Tony, Amy and the great Foundation team to facilitate alignment around priorities which advance the entire North American natural gas transmission pipeline industry.
Mr. Nicholson is Vice President of HSE for Michels Corporation, a multi-faceted construction company headquartered in Brownsville, WI, where he has worked since 2007. Before joining Michels, Mr. Nicholson was Corporate Director of HSE & Risk for Mears Group, Inc. (a Quanta Services Company).
