INGAA Applauds Supreme Court Ruling on Atlantic Coast Pipeline
This morning, the US Supreme Court issued a ruling to uphold the permit for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. Commenting on the ruling, Alex Oehler, interim President and Chief Executive Officer of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), issued the following statement:
“For decades, Congress, the U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, and the entire federal government uniformly and sensibly recognized that the Forest Service has the authority to grant rights-of-way within Forest Service lands, including crossing beneath designated Park Service trails. Today’s Supreme Court ruling further cements this longstanding and common-sense process. We support this reasoned decision, as pipeline projects like the Atlantic Coast Pipeline are crucial for American energy security, our economy and our environment.”
