FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 30, 2023
WASHINGTON, District of Columbia, United States — Amy Andryszak, President & CEO of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), released the following statement regarding the Promoting Innovation in Pipeline Efficiency and Safety (PIPES) Act of 2023.
“INGAA commends the U.S. House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Chairmen Sam Graves and Troy Nehls, and Ranking Members Rick Larsen and Donald Payne, for conducting a bipartisan, consensus driven process with stakeholders that resulted in a strong first draft of the PIPES Act of 2023. We appreciate this draft contains several provisions that will improve the programs of the Pipeline and Hazardous Safety Administration (PHMSA). Safety is our members’ first priority, and we look forward to working with lawmakers to finalize this legislation to ensure our members can continue to safely deliver affordable, reliable, and clean natural gas to American homes and businesses that use it every day.”
