
The Board of Directors for the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) has appointed Michael McMahon to serve as the chairman of the organization for a one-year term. Mr. McMahon is the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Boardwalk Pipelines, and he serves on its Board of Directors. He previously served as INGAA’s chairman in 2015.
“For many years now, Mike has demonstrated his commitment to our industry and organization, and his decades of legal and regulatory experience and extensive knowledge about the natural gas transmission industry is an invaluable asset to INGAA as we work with policymakers to advance our priorities,” said Amy Andryszak, President and CEO of INGAA. “Mike and I have worked together in different capacities for almost 15 years, and I look forward to working with him at INGAA to advocate for commonsense policy solutions for our industry to ensure Americans continue to have access to reliable and affordable energy.”
In his role as Chair of the Board, Mr. McMahon will work to further the priorities of INGAA and its members companies, including advocating for policies that reform the permitting process for new infrastructure and promote the safe and reliable natural gas transportation amid an evolving energy industry. Mr. McMahon has held influential roles in the energy industry for over 35 years and has been with Boardwalk and its subsidiaries since 1989.
“As energy demand increases, INGAA’s members remain essential to providing the critical infrastructure necessary to safely deliver natural gas while helping to support America’s growing economy,” said Mr. McMahon. “I am looking forward to continuing INGAA’s mission of informing stakeholders about the essential role that natural gas plays in providing reliable and affordable energy. It is as important now as ever to bring industry leaders together to advocate for policies and regulations that support the continued buildout of natural gas infrastructure.”
Mr. McMahon graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics. Mr. McMahon went on to earn his law degree from Washburn University.
INGAA also appointed Cynthia Hansen, Executive Vice President and President, Gas Transmission and Midstream, at Enbridge as vice chair. Ms. Hansen previously served as INGAA’s second vice chair.
