The Board of Directors for the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) has appointed Paul Ruppert to serve as the chair of the organization for a one-year term. Mr. Ruppert is President at BHE GT&S (a Berkshire Hathaway Energy company).
“Paul brings a wealth of experience and technical knowledge about natural gas pipeline and LNG facilities infrastructure to the role of chair, and I look forward to working alongside him to continue to advocate on the behalf of the industry, said Amy Andryszak, President & CEO of INGAA. “Pauls’ steadfast and proven leadership in the industry will be invaluable as we continue to fight to shape regulations in a challenging environment and to position natural gas as foundational to achieving an affordable and reliable energy future.”
Mr. Ruppert joined Consolidate Natural Gas (CNG) in May 1987 and became part of Dominion Energy with its acquisition of CNG in January 2000, where he rose to President of Gas Transmission. He then assumed his current position within BHE GT&S upon BHE’s acquisition of the Dominion Energy interstate natural gas business in November 2022.
“The natural gas pipeline industry operates assets that are critical to ensuring energy efficiency and reliability through all seasons of the year while providing a path to a lower carbon future,” said Mr. Ruppert. “I am honored to embark on my year as Chair of INGAA and see this as a unique opportunity to help support the future of our industry, which is and will continue to be critical in providing clean, affordable energy safely and securely to homes and businesses across the country.”
Mr. Ruppert graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering in 1986 and went on to earn his master’s in business administration from West Virginia Wesleyan College. He is a registered Professional Engineer.
INGAA also appointed Michael McMahon, Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Boardwalk Pipeline Partners as first vice chair, and Cynthia Hansen, Executive Vice President and President, Gas Transmission and Midstream at Enbridge as second vice chair.
